AMS integrations

Sunsure is not an AMS replacement. The AMS is your system of record for in-force policies and customer relationships; sunsure is the AI layer that handles the quote-to-bind cycle. Here's how they fit together.

TL;DR
  • Division of labor: AMS owns in-force policies, accounting, customer history. Sunsure owns the document-to-quote cycle.
  • Common AMS partners: AMS360 (Vertafore), Applied Epic, EZLynx, HawkSoft.
  • Connector status: direct AMS connectors are in active development; current product is designed to coexist without conflicting with AMS data models.
  • Data flow today: bound policies flow from sunsure into the AMS via export, agencies can adopt sunsure without changing their AMS.

Why sunsure isn't an AMS

An AMS is the system of record for an agency, every in-force policy, every claim, every customer interaction over years. Replacing an AMS is a months-long migration with real operational risk.

Sunsure intentionally doesn't try to replace that. The product solves a different problem: compressing the quote-to-bind cycle for new business and renewals. The bound-policy data exits sunsure and goes into your AMS where it belongs.

What direct AMS integration enables

Direct connectors will let sunsure read existing customer data from the AMS during a renewal (so the producer doesn't re-key history), and write bound-policy data back into the AMS as the system of record. They will also let sunsure surface AMS notes in the quote workflow when an agent is reviewing a customer's full history.

Until direct connectors are live, agencies use sunsure alongside the AMS, sunsure runs the quote, the producer copies the bound-policy data into the AMS as the final step. That's an extra 30 seconds per bind, not an extra 30 minutes.

AMS-by-AMS specifics

  • AMS360 (Vertafore). The largest installed base in independent agencies. Most-requested integration. In active development.
  • Applied Epic. Enterprise tier; second-most-requested. In active development.
  • EZLynx. Comparative-rater bundled with management system. Sunsure complements rather than replaces EZLynx Rater.
  • HawkSoft. Mid-market alternative. In planning.

How to evaluate today

If your agency requires a live AMS connector before purchase, ask sunsure for current connector status before evaluation. If you're willing to operate with copy/paste between sunsure and your AMS at the bind step (most agencies are, at the time-savings on offer), sunsure is usable now.

Frequently asked questions

No. Sunsure intentionally operates in the new-business and renewal quote phase, not the in-force policy phase. Customer data flows from sunsure to the AMS at bind, not the other way around (today). Direct connectors will add bidirectional flow.

No, but most agencies already have one. Agencies without an AMS can use sunsure for quoting and store bound-policy data however they choose.

AMS360 and Applied Epic are in active development. Confirm specific timelines with sunsure during evaluation; the answer changes as the roadmap moves forward.
